I have installed apache2triad on a PC with win2k professional installed and I am using DSL service with a router. Here is my problem:
I can't access my site through port:80, but can access through 6000. No.. my firewall or anti-virus are not blocking this port (I tested it by turning them off). I have set-up port forwards on my router to forward port:80 to this PC.
What is strange is.. when you access my site with IP addtess (http://xx.xx.xx.xxx:80) it shows a page with 3 junk charecters .. if you try it with (http://xx.xx.xx.xxx:6000) you can see it just fine.
My ISP is not blocking this port either.. I have tested it through canyouseeme.org etc..
Can someone please help me !! |

I have signedup with zoneedit to manage the dns services. On their FAQ , they have given instructions on how to handle if port:80 is not working (could be due to ISP). This port works.. but looks ugly when a visitor sees the URL change like using :6000 at the end. |

| I have the same problem... I turned firewall of but I still can't connect to my site through port 80. I can connect through any other port (I tried 8090 and it works). Through port 80 works only on computers on my local network. I think, that there must be some settings where this coul'd be fixed... can anyone help? |

The usual culprits are firewall, antivirus, and your ISP on not being able to use port 80. I'd recommend you check them out in that order.
If your ISP does block it you may be able to talk with them and have them disable port 80 blocks, or if they won't and you're willing to shell out a couple of dollars you can use a port forward service. No-ip.com has one. |
