I installed Apache2Triad. The username is, of course, root. The password is soccer83. It rebooted my computer. Everthing is working fine except it wouldn't let me log into phpPgAdmin, it said the "Login failed." So I opened pgAdmin III and it looks like the database isn't running as you can see from the picture:
I know it's running on host 127.0.0.1 but I guess it's not accepting connections on port 5432? I'm not sure, I'm just going by the error box in the picture. Can someone help? |

for starters try starting the server in cause , it is not on autostart on boot by default
logicall steps are : see if it has been started , see if it is running , see if it is listening |

| I'm having the same problem. I can't get connection with any port. I tried many with firewalls disabled. I typed psql and I get this message and pg_ctl too. |

check that your problem is not the one from FAQ Question #22
"oppening" the port is done by postgres when postgres starts , and if there are errors or no db cluster postgress wont start |
