During install of V1.5.4 on WinXP, following message:
Setting password to xxxxxxxx, using path C:\apache2triad

C:\apache2triad/mysql/bin/mysqladmin.exe: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)'
Check that mysqld is running on localhost and that the port is 3306.
You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'
Password for Mysql not changed !!
Automatically using MD5 format.

Nothing is critically wrong here, it just didn't change the default account of root with no password.

You can login to http://localhost/phpmyadmin and change the password, or you can use MySQLAdmin->User Administration -> root
and then change what you want
