Have this problem, i am running a server and the name is hosted thru godaddy.com. The name points to my ip. But when you goto the domain galacticchaos.net it routes u to my server but the address line changes from galacticchaos.net to my ip address. I can change the domain settings to mask and it will hide the ip and show galacticchaos, net but then it wont work on the other links without hiding all of them. Its really hard to explain, i want to have my name shown and links like galacticchaos.net/downloads/ to show up and work. Do i have to run a dns server and host the domain name on my server. I asked godaddy.com and they said that is the way it works unless i move the site to one of there servers, which cost money. Anything that might help would be nice.
Do i need a dns server if so does anyne know good cheap or free dns server? |

They are missleading , you need any dns server not just theirs.
Your domain is currently set up with PARK5.SECURESERVER.net PARK6.SECURESERVER.net which is a godaddy scam rig and diverts all your traffic trough their servers first
If you read the FAQ you can find links to good and free dns providers on which you can set up your ip directly on the domain |
