I have been running A2T on my Win XP Pro AMD 3200+ with 2.5 gig ram - however as the site is used by an non profit Organization - someone has donated a 1.7 Pentium to use as just the server, freeing up my computer for my graphics work.
We have Windows 2000 to install on the 1.7 - but my question is what amount of ram would you recommend?
We are using Joomla as our CMS
The stats for this month (1st - 7th} for the so far are:-
Hits - 18195 - (162.45 hits/visit)
Pages - 7661 (68.4 pages/visit)
Number of visits - 112 (1.41 visits/visitor)
Keeping in mind that google hasn't fully indexed the new site as yet - we would expect those numbers to go up as the old Postnuke site has had 997019 pages views since 27 Sept 2004.
I know in most cases more ram is better - but I don't want to have to ask the committee to purchase more ram than is really necessary as they are really on a limited budget. |

Great minds think alike.
Just Run some reporting on the server, see how it copes!
Should be enough, However HDD's may let you down before the memory does. |

I am certainly going to put a brand new drive in it - just to be on the safe side:D - looking at this months stats we are now up to
Number of visits 270 (1.68 visits/visitor)
Hits 28369
Pages 11687 (43.28 pages/visit)
The big question is whether my old Smoothwall box will be up to the task
Let me just add - I am impressed - A2T has performed flawlessly and the feedback from my site visitors is good - so rest assured you have done something right with A2T |

When i ment, the HDD was going to let you down, i was reffering to the site starting to lagg, with more i/o requests by users.
Personally ..... I would run o/s on one HDD and the website on the other. |

| Put the website on a RAID array, or software RAID array, and you'll have marked performance improvement. 1Gb of ram would be good with this too. |
