I see activity on the forums, but no new release packages have been offered since 2/2006.

I have been using various WAMPs for many years now - Apache2Triad many years ago followed by BigApache and then Netserver, the later of which I really liked but it stopped being developed a year or so ago.

I am now in need of a WAMP with SSL, Zend and a mail server (I don't like Mercury but will take it if I have to; I much prefer Netserver's hMailServer).

I installed XAMP yesterday, however I wasn't thrilled with the way it filled the htdocs folder with tons of sub-folders, since in XAMP this is where your web content goes. It just seems really cluttered.

So I started looking again.

According to this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_WAMPs A2T has what I need, as does Web Developer Server Suite (with the exception of zend). Web Developer Suite is still very actively being developed.

Before I can choose I'd like to know if the same applies to A2T.

Thanks.

I've been wondering the same thing, I'd like a newer version of Python so I can use the newer wxWidgets extension. Let's not forget though, that this is open source so just how difficult is it to add the new stuff we need. I'm no sys admin or webmaster, but if there's some sorta template or how-to I could take a crack at adding the newer Python and rebundling it.

I've checked the FAQ page and documentation, but I haven't found anything like a tutorial on how to upgrade a component. Anyone else know of one?

Vlad has done a great job with A2T he made it like Windows is to Linux
I mean very simple
Xampp, Wamp and the other are like Linux harder
The problem with A2T is the Updates if it will get updated regulary it will be great.

you can not easily update packages , as updating all packages is what consists of a new apache2triad release for the biggest part , and that is not a easy thing to do properly

at this point i am still waiting on developments from microsoft like windows 2008 server and see how things settle for vista , besides the issue with my time which is the biggest reason why a2t updates stopped , microsoft shares a lot of blame , the last a2t version i released was the first one to have implemented Side-by-side Assemblies as makers of the different software within apache2triad had no alternative but to start using assemblies for the windows builds as a fix for DLL Hell blog unfortunately causing more problems than solving any

Guys, i suggest that you move away from A2t to Xampp or Wamp.

I moved from A2T after no updates were provided fro A2T.

This is actually a dead project no matter what the author says. Its better to move on than to stay regretful.
