after testing the email-functions in the forums (not working due to wrong setup) and also for the posting news part, we tried to get back to NOT using any email (SMTP or POP3 whatsoever)....

But we still get the following failure:
Failed sending email ::
DEBUG MODE
Line : 265
File : C:\apache2\htdocs\phpnuke\includes\emailer.php

Please help, what should we do?

We have turned everything off in the administration-forum panel and also in the administration-preferences but we still have the problem above.
/EDIT/ yes we have also turned off "User email via board", and also turned off "Use SMTP Server for email" /EDIT/

wraith listen to my words carefully

after running :
apache2triad1.1.6.exe
reboot

if the xmail , mysql and apache service are started ( see windows services management )

and if you have a internet conection bound on the networking layer

i can guarantee that by registering to the phpnuke forums from localhost you will recieve the confirmation email to any smtp server that does not require reverse DNS or a FQDN sender

this is all

Every Default username & password is located in the apache2triad_readme.txt file.
Read that and then set your configurations accordingly.
