change it to whaterver you like but be aware that some of the scripts in apache2cp , and others might not work

i am really interested however in "illegal remoting access" and what do you mean by that

can you also explain what makes you think that changing the server root will prevent that

if you are reffering to the .htpasswd file only , you can just move that one folder down and then change Quote: "AuthUserFile C:\apache\htdocs\.htpasswd" to Quote: "AuthUserFile C:\apache\.htpasswd" in the files needed

as for the folder you can use
Quote: Alias /www/ "C:/apache/www/"

of course substitute C:\apache for your actual path
