Just a quick question, Is there any kind of software that i can use to totally monitor my server? For instance, if someone is connected to my machine I want something that will tell me exactly what directory they are viewing, and what they are downloading. I have been watchin connections all evening and there has been a single IP connected downloading something. I dont have enough files on my machine to take that long to download, even if they are on DialUp. I just wanna know exactly who is where and what they are doing is all.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Jason

That would be a nice thing to have but unfortunatly, I'm not sure there is such software for slimftpd.
As for checking what that particular user is doing, your best bet is the logs

The logs would be a good place to start.... maybe you could check awstats and see if anything shows there....

You could download and install a network sniffer:
http://www.ethereal.com/

This will show what packets are going across your network to the server.... it might be a bit extreme, but its a possible solution.

you want it real time ?
as there are a lot of tools like awstats that provide non realtime statistics if not

anyway the only way of monitoring the server i know of is looing at http://localhost/server-status ...

that is quite a raw statistics and i guess i could write a graphicall display to use it but i dont have time now

You could monitor the server's traffic with SNMP like Net-snmp, and a webinterface like Cacti. Maybe MRTG, but I don't know if that will run under Windows.
