Is there a way to update mysql only to 4.1.10a

I have istalled apache2triad1.4.1 but the mysql that comes with apache2triad is 4.0.24 I really need to update to 4.1.10a because a have a backup database that I want to restore to my local server. Thank for helping.

backup your mysql databases, \apache2triad\mysql\data << everything related execpt the mysql database ... find my.ini (usually C:\windows\my.ini) back up that file ... then simply install mysql you need, DO NOT OVERITE the mysql folder in you \apache2triad\mysql folder .... also I HIGHLY DOUBT THE AUTOSTART MYSQL FEATURE WILL WORK WITH THAT VERSION, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO UNCHECK THE AUTO START IN THE CONTROL PANEL AND READ HOW TO INSTALL MYSQL YOU INSTALLED AS SYSTEM SERVICE. ... most likely you will have problems lster upgrading apache2triad later ...

come to think about it, if you copied the whole \apache2triad\mysql folder and install the new mysql to that location and the auto start will *probably* work ... just back up everything before you blame me for killing you mysql.

Don't Worry I'm still doing a lot of testing until everything is working, so for right now if it gets messed up i'll just put everything back. I'll try that as soon as I can and see what happens. Thanks

I installed it in the \apache2triad\mysql but now I can't login at all. Can someone help me with this thank you.
Error Message is
MySQL Error NUmber 1130 HOst 'localhost is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.

Any ideas Anyone?
