I tried to connect to MySQL server through CGI script and was unsuccessful. My script is:

use DBI;
$db = dbconnect("localhost", "dbname", "dbuser", "dbpass");

Is there any module or setting that I probably missed? Please help. Thanks.

Note:
Here is a list of DBI drivers installed:
CSV DBM ExampleP File ODBC Proxy SQLite SQLite2 Sponge mysql

Hi LiquidSnake, my situation here is I need to take down a web application written (a bit messy) in Perl from a web server to be run on our intranet (with a apache2triad as the web server running on Windows XP professional). I myself am a PHP coder and have very minimal Perl experience. I want a very little modification on the code so I would rather to provide anything (modules or settings) that is required to make the code run.

Given my case here, do you have any suggestion? Thanks.

Here is the error message:

Quote:
Software error:
Cannot connect to the database
ERROR: 1251 (Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client)

Having checked this link http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/password-hashing.html, I got it right now after resetting the password to pre-4.1 style.

Thanks a lot LiquidSnake
