I have two servers which host a PHP program I use, EasyHost Free. One of them works fine; it is hosted by http://www.1and1.com/. The other one is hosted on my own computer. It has MANY problems.

Here they are:

1) The program contains 3 files, which access the EasyHost Free parent servers and download updates from them for the program. That makes a completely new folder and a TON of new files. However, when it did this upon first startup, it corrupted almost every single file. I.E.- The images appeared broken up and corrupt and strange-looking. I ended up having to go in and re-create every one.

2) It appears this issue is also related to the first problem. EasyHost Free allows users to sign up, which creates their own member directory, where they can upload any file from their computer. When uploaded, files usually above 500KB or something around there become completely corrupted, and are no longer usable.

Please help me with these issues! I'm trying to provide a free service to people, and it's not turning out so good because of all these problems!

The reason why it gave you an error when trying to connect is because you're using the new method of password encryption in MySQL 4.1. Go into PHPMyAdmin and change the encryption of your password to the old method, and the program will resume the setup process.

Note, that I run EasyHost Free on another server, and it has always run just fine. However, it runs on Linux, and I run my server on Windows. Could this be the cause? Yet EasyHost Free states it is compatible with Windows!

*Or is it because I run PHP5 and it needs PHP4?

I downloaded the script again. Using PPM (/apache2triad/perl/bin/ppm.bat) installed the following

Quote:
PPM> install apache-dbi

Quote:
PPM> install DBD-mysql

after than setup went fine, tested it ... all file were exact and no problems?

only problem i saw were some of the programs (easyhost) links were broken, haven't looked to much into that though. not need to change the login method as you suggested..

try re-installing and use method I did. who knows, sounds like a corrupt download..

nifty little program though...

forgot to mention Im running edge release 1.5.2
