If you want to store the web host files on a seperate drive, you will have to change the Document root in the Virtual Host section of the Conf.

So:
Main Config:

DocumentRoot "C:/apache2triad/htdocs"

Virtualhosts config:

<VirtualHost *>
ServerAdmin Admin@domain.com
DocumentRoot D:\somedir\htdocs\some\dir
ServerName somedomain.com
</VirtualHost>

if you want to use both C:\ and D:\ you can also use an alias.

Quote:
Alias /pics/ "D:/pics/"

<Directory "D:/pics/">
AllowOverride None
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>

The previous example would allow you to access the files in D:\pics whenever a visitor requested http://yoursite/pics
