hey,

im not sure if it is apache or what, but occasionally my server just stops accepting connections and the only way to fix this is to restart the server.

any suggestions?

you can understand my concern as uptime is very important here...

cheers,

ben

See FAQ #26 for the most likely culprits.

ok so i've looked at the FAQ , and everything is set correctly in my config according to it.

It appears to happen every few days strangely enough... im not sure what the deal is. and another thing, sometimes when i login into my server i am notified that the computer recovered from a serious error. yet all its been doing is serving???

i thought that maybe in some of the scripts certain mysql connections weren't being closed properly which i have since fixed, this couldnt be the problem could it?

i suppose one solution is to start a fresh install, fresh everything OS and all... but i would really like to pinpoint why the server just decides to stop serving every 3 days so i dont keep running into this, uptime is critical.

any thoughts

ben

Look at A2T's log files, and check out Windows' Event Viewer

my error logs are full up with various jargon. Most of the services i can see where the problem is, although apache concerns me, as i have no idea how to fix it.

Apache:
Code:
[Sun Nov 19 18:44:39 2006] [warn] (OS 64)The specified network name is no longer available.  : winnt_accept: Asynchronous AcceptEx failed.
[Sun Nov 19 18:44:39 2006] [warn] (OS 121)The semaphore timeout period has expired.  : winnt_accept: Asynchronous AcceptEx failed.

this appears several times on several days. a couple of the other apache errors are just bits of useless AllowOverrides that arent needed and will be removed.

btw the server crashes physically i think because it is looking for a non-existent driver for a couple unconnected periphs, they're gone now... yet i still think i might do a fresh start regardless.

feel like translating the abovementioned log errors?
