Hello.

I know this might sound a very common question... I had a look in the FAQ and here's what I found:

Question #10

What is the username/password for apache2triadcp/awstats/phpxmail etc ?

The password is the global one that you have set in the installer , the username is usually root , the readme file is explicit about this you know.

OK the problem is that I installed Apache on ubuntu and the installer never asked me to enter a password... The username, of course, is root but I can't get the password. I tried "triadpass" but its not working. I must reset the password... Please tell me the process.

Thank you.

EDIT:
Code:

system@system-laptop:~$ sudo htpasswd -c /etc/passwd test
Password:
New password:
Re-type new password:
Adding password for user test
system@system-laptop:~$

As you see it worked... but it replaced EVERYTHING that was in the /etc/passwd file with the new one:

Code:

test:bv4v1knZwrgniA

(thank God I took a backup of /etc/passwd first!)

these are the support forums for apache2triad which is for windows only , and while much of the information on these forums apply to apache servers on any operatong system , some things like the FAQ entry you quoted loose any meaning outside of apache2triad
