I'd agree with the firewall thing. It works from time to time, and images show up unbroken and work. I have shut ZoneAlarm down for a couple of days where I didn't run it at all, and the images seem to work again. Just turned it back on today, but haven't done anything yet with localhost, so not sure what will happen this time. Thanks for the help. Wouldn't happen to have the link to the information you found on the ZoneAlarm problem would you?

Thanks in advance.

Shutdown and unistall ZoneAlrm ...

This is a known issue with the latest versions.

Just shutting it down will not solve the issue, it has to be removed completely ..

If you need a firewall.. take a look at sygate firewall pro ..

This is the lastest thread at the Zone Alarm forum: http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=gen&message.id=12775
The issue concerns ZA 5. I just rolled back to 4.5_594 and things seem to be okay. I haven't checked too thoroughly, though.

Thanks mrm2u. It LOOKS like they SHOULD have it fixed with the next release of ZoneAlarm. I'll be waiting and watching, and thanks for the link.

Dawg, I beg to differ with you. I don't have pro version, and just turning it off seems to do the trick. I'll STILL be waiting to see if they can get it all worked out though or not. Don't like going without a firewall if I am working locally PLUS logged online in research.

I have the same problem. The browser shows only some small images ( a few bytes). But when I access the site through SSL, the page is shown perfectly, all the images are there!!! Have you tried this solution? Any idea about why is this happening?

In httpd.conf I added:

EnableSendfile Off

That solved the problem Wink

indeed
EnableSendfile
Quote:
This directive controls whether httpd may use the sendfile support from the kernel to transmit file contents to the client. By default, when the handling of a request requires no access to the data within a file -- for example, when delivering a static file -- Apache uses sendfile to deliver the file contents without ever reading the file if the OS supports it.

might just do the trick

and it might alos prove how compatible the windows NT kernel is , if you are all using that

big thanks peich for looking into this

I tried the EnableSendfile off fix and it seems to have solved the problem. I'm using Win XP Professional with Zone Alarm 5. Thanks, peich.

First of all: Thanks for this perfect package

mancini, maybe you could include the info that it may happen that images and css (and maybe other files?) won't load if

EnableSendfile off

in the httpd.conf is not uncommented.

It would have saved me a few hours of trouble...

I'm using Win XP Professional with Zone Alarm 5.

Hi,

I have enabled the following line in the httpd.conf (not commented):

EnableSendfile off

I uninstalled ZA 5 (and rebooted) and still I'm not getting images.

I only get the following error in the Apache error log when refreshing with F5:

[Mon Oct 02 22:21:04 2006] [warn] [client 127.0.0.1] mod_include: Options +Includes (or IncludesNoExec) wasn't set, INCLUDES filter removed

I'm using Win XP Professional SP2.

Could you please help me to solve this problem. When I point my browser directly to the image it becomes visible, eg:

http://localhost/NHN/images/right.jpg.

Regards,
Jacco
