Question

i have created a .htpasswd with htpasswd in the apache2 bin folder.
but now i try to login but it says the password is wrong i have try'd it more then 5 times does somebody know how to do this ??

the apache2/bin directory is not under the web server root and should not ever be configured as such

that menas that files in it will not be available or have any effect on the server

furthermore .htpasswd files are not functional on their own, they need to be called by a directive in a .htaccess file

Question
i have configures the .htacces and created a .htpasswd file in the dir
with the login,
when i go to that dir i have to enter a user name and password
but when i enter the username and password i don't login
it just displays the login screen agian for ever
this is the website dir witch i have secured
