My operating system: Windows XP Home Edition
Apache2Triad Version: 1.5.2
Using Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2005
While installing A2T, Norton Internet Security asked me if it should block or grant access to some processes. At that time installation wizard were trying to access to mysql server and I was trying to click accept button. I guess I was late or not quick enough. I got the following msg.
Setting password to blablabla
C:\apache2triad/mysql/bin/mysqladmin.exe: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)'
Check that mysqld is running on localhost and that the port is 3306.
You can check this by doing 'telnet localhost 3306'
Password for Mysql not changed !!
Automatically using MD5 format.
Adding password for user root
We were unable to set the password 1 times ,
Report this to apache2triad.net
Press enter to exit
I also read the page from this forum which can be seen by clicking address below:
http://apache2triad.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1221&highlight=telnet+localhost+3306
I've downloaded Fport program and the port 3306 is not listed.
I was able to connect to phpmyadmin and I set a root password by using the phpmyadmin page on localhost.
am I missing anything? I need somebody to let me know to make sure. Thanx in advance. |

no , you seem to have it right , the setup script tries to access the mysql server a second or less after it starts it so if it got blocked or manual interaction was required most likely the script tried to connect to the server before it got running
in effect the mysql password was not changed from null to the global pass , but you have manually done that with phpmyadmin so everything is ok |
