Hi,
Does this project work with Windows ME?
I downloaded, installed, and tried to start as per the readme file, but cannot open site root.

As you have probably guessed, I am brand new to this but am interested in learning PHP and MySQL and this package looks like it has all I need and more.

I was able to open the control panel with Explorer but am unclear as to whether I should make changes to the Apache conf.httpd file.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Im'nt experinced with winMe but I think it run well.
For start no requsted any change in config files: they ae preconfigurated.
Control if in try bar of explorer ,at bottom near to the clock, it is the apaches icon(red pen).
If exist doubleclick on it and in the menu click on start.
then in the control panel click on the open site root.
If you like work also with MYSQL click ,in the control panel, on winmysqladmin
For run your scripts (they must be in htdocs folder) in the url bar of the browser type:
localhost/name_of_script.php

(sorry for my English)

hello hunter
the os you are using is quite a strange one
it does not use autoexec.bat for registering enviroment variables (paths) like win98 nor does it read them from the registry like win2000/XP

for now i do not know what you have to do to solve your problem but i will install winME today and hopefully tomorow you will have a answer

angelo:
the paths are not loaded al all under winME .. it is my mistake ... i completly forgot about the crazy ways of winME
i hope i will find a way to fix that soon

Scusate se posto in italiano,ma forse ci capiamo prima.

Ho winME e ho provato qualche giorno fa a installare apache 2 e mySQL 4;
ho fatto questo in maniera autonoma senza utilizzare apache2triad.

Be'...non c'era verso di far funzionare ne' l'uno ne' l'altro
pensavo di essere diventato scemo io, mettevo le dll nei posti giusti, ma niente di niente. Evil or Very Mad

Morale,ho installato apache 1.3 e mysql 3.23 e funziona tutto.

Ora, dopo avere visto il vostro progetto pensavo di avere trovato la soluzione e di poter avere le ultime versioni dei prg, ma pare non sia cosi' visto il post di hunter....

Che fare ?
Ciao grazie.
