currently using the latest 1.2 version running on win2000 svr with sp1.

"#2003 can't connect to mysql ... (10062)"

getting the above error msgs when trying to change password right after the installation (as recommended in the Apache2Triad_readme).

getting the same error msgs when trying to access the phpnuke, phpbb.

using the mysql test, got "... cannot connect thru root@127.0.0.1".

didn't change any config files yet.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

WinZ.

did you reboot after the instalation ?
it looks like the mysql server is not started
check the services list to see if it is

Yes I did reboot the system.

Also tried manual stop and restart the mysql service (thru the CP). although CP msg said it was started successfully, but when I tried to test it or use other services such as nuke or phpbb to test if the database service is working fine, the result is negative.

alright. will check the service list.

btw, before I install triad, my sys already has a copy of mysql installed. will this be the cause of the problem?

Thanks again for your advice. Wink

It could 'cause problems if it wasn't fully uninstalled. This is/was documented somewhere.

Try running registry keys clean & old installations clean

Ok guys,

got it up and running already. Cheers! Very Happy

I realised I forgot to run the Winmysqladmin from the Start menu before going into Apache2CP (read it somewhere much earlier but forgot to do so after the installation).

Thanks to Mancini and kolatracks for providing me with advice on the problem. Wink
